Use Noise to Stop Bad Behavior

Many cat experts recommend using a spray bottle or small squirt gun to spray your cat when it's being naughty. However, that type of cat behavior modification may just make your cat angry and more aggressive.

Here's another way to attain cat behavior modification quickly and easily.

  • Rinse out an empty soda can and let it dry.
  • Drop a few metal coins or other metal objects into the can.
  • When you see your cat scratching, biting, or otherwise misbehaving, shake the can loudly. In most cases, your cat will take off running.
A few shakes of the can and your cat won't be as interested in any of the activities warranting that noise. Use this technique for any cat behavior modification your cat needs to work on.
