How to Book a Flight With a Dog

If you’re traveling and must take your dog with you on a plane, book a flight that will make it easier on your dog whenever possible. Not sure how? Read these pointers for booking a flight that will be less stressful on your pooch.
  • Book a direct, non-stop flight with your pooch rather than one with connections. It’s faster, simpler and easier on your traveling dog.
  • Avoid travel during the busiest holiday periods and weekends. Lines will be longer and travel delays more frequent, making a trip more stressful on you and your dog.
  • Book your flight when temperatures are milder. Avoiding the coldest days of winter and the hottest days of summer is a good idea when flying with your dog. Also, morning flights and evening flights are much cooler for your dog.
